The focus at Weiss Cattle Company is on top quality breeding stock, with an emphasis on the ideal ranch cow. Through years of quality breeding, we have selected cattle that thrive and produce in our environment.
Our cow herd consists of two groups of high quality animals. The first group consists of Purebred Red Simmental and commercial Red Simmental, Red Angus cross. This group provides the bull power base to our commercial program. The second and larger herd consists of Red Simmental, Red Angus cross cows.
We strive for high performance cattle, with built in longevity that the most discerning cattlemen can appreciate. The cross breeding between the 2 breeds provides all the traits of temperament, performance, structure that combines for an eye appeal that everyone can appreciate. If they don’t work for us, they won’t work for you.
Offering select groups of top cut commercial females. Bred to calving ease Red Angus and Charolais bulls for early and late calving dates.

Weiss cattle company is a family run operation nestled on the North slope of the Cypress Hills, 20 minutes south west of Maple Creek, Saskatchewan. The ranch was originally started by Ken and Lorna Weiss in 1958, when they settled in the Cypress Hills. The ranch has evolved to the present, with Lance and Jayne and their two sons Cole and Landen running the day to day operations.
